One source of truth — content management system for marketers
Knowledge Graph for Brands
Company: Yext
Role: Strategic Direction, Market & Client Research, Concept Development, Design Leadership
Timeline: Announced in October 2018 under “Yext Brain” | Launched in 2019
Yext started out storing, indexing, and distributing location information for brands. As the client pool expanded in volume and diversity, we saw an increase in the type of content that brands created to engage with customers.
In response, Yext announced Yext for Events in 2017, then saw an opportunity to include Products, Services, People, and more. This was a huge step forward in identifying a market for multi-entity data platform — not just locations.
After months of research, concept iterations, prototyping, and testing in market since then, we announced Yext Brain (now known as Yext Knowledge Graph), an AI-ready data platform that lets you create and relate all the facts about your business.
In Brain Studio, a business can create its own unique Knowledge Graph by adding Entity Types and Relationships between them with custom-defined properties. This allows the br to start managing its complex data in a way that end customers can easily find answers to using AI-powered experiences like Siri, Google, and Alexa. With Yext Brain, businesses can now directly answer questions such as:
Who is the CEO of Morgan Stanley?
Where is the nearest Arby’s with a $5 Triple Burger Set promotion?
What time does the Union Square Citibank close today?
Who are the pediatricians near me who specialize in autism?
When is the next event at American Eagles Herald Square?
